Description Sensational spider hand carved out of a Tagua Nut, a nut indigenous to the rainforests of South America and is known throughout the world as Vegetable Ivory. An amazing amount of precision and detail is carved throughout this fetish. Created by Zuni carver Brian Yatsattie. Spiders represent creative patterns of life. Signed 1 1/8” tall x 2” long x 1 1/2” wide Artist card included Zuni fetishes are carvings made from various materials by the Zuni people. Traditionally, fetishes served a ceremonial purpose for their creators and they represented animals and figures that were part of their culture. Today, as a form of Native American Art, they are sold to collectors worldwide.
