Genod was founded in 1970 in Saint-Claude, the birthplace of the briar pipe, and today is one of the few remaining traditional pipe workshops in the region. 50 years is already a pretty impressive run for a pipe company, though it should also be noted that the history, or pre-history, of Genod stretches back much, much further. One can ultimately trace the lineage of Genod and its master craftsmen to Saint-Clude in 1800s, as participants in the pipe making revolution that took place there. Naturally, Genod pipes tend toward classical forms, and often employ the same materials as pipes from 200 or so years ago. One such material is animal horn, which the Genod workshop uses for mouthpieces on a few of its lines, such as in the case of this large, 3/4 bent billiard rendition. This pipe is completely unsmoked. Some very minor scratches around the bowl, though nothing major. Details: Length: 5.9″ / 149.8mm Bowl Width: 0.83 / 21.08mm Bowl Depth: 1.78″ / 45.21mm Weight: 2.1oz / 60g
