This pipe came in with a large lot of Edward’s pipes, a significant pipe company in the United States in the 20th century and which Randy Wiley once worked for. As it unstamped, I can’t confirm with certainty who made the pipe, though, as with a few others in the Edward’s lot, it is certainly in the style of Edward’s famous “Algerian Briar” pipes (and indeed of the contemporaneous, nascent American freehand scene). The design is of a very hearty, freehand brandy sitter, with a nice grain, a very light finish, and a lovely, amber-toned acrylic mount and stem that is a little reminiscent of the old Savinelli Estella Non Pareil. The condition is good. Rim darkening, chamber slightly over-reamed, and minor handling marks. Details: Length: 6″ / 152.4mm Bowl Width: 0.93 / 23.62mm Bowl Depth: 1.48″ / 37.59mm Weight: 1.7oz / 50g
